Sheridan Maine is collaborating with a London-based organisation to recruit a Group Financial Reporting Manager for their team. The ideal candidate should be a certified accountant (CCAB) with substantial post-qualification experience and a deep understanding of Charity SORP and Charity Commission requirements and guidance.
This role oversees the production and approval of consolidated internal and external reports, statutory accounts, and manages VAT, Corporation tax, treasury functions, investment fund management, and balance sheet reconciliation. The aim is to efficiently manage group finances and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Your responsibilities as the Group Financial Reporting Manager will include:
- Assist the Associate Director of Finance in developing the finance strategy
- Lead team development and motivation
- Governance, Security, Risk, and Compliance
- Maintain the risk register, collaborate on risk and compliance processes
- Produce and approve statutory accounts for the group and subsidiaries
- Lead the audit process and resolve queries promptly
- Produce monthly consolidated reports for board and committees
- Ensure timely completion of month-end reconciliations
- Oversee payroll, pensions, and intercompany payments
- Manage accounting for fixed assets, investments, bank accounts, and restricted funds
- Prepare and submit group VAT returns and lead the relationship with tax advisors
- Coordinate external reporting requests from regulatory bodies
- Review and control accounting standards and policies
- Lead the development and implementation of finance systems
- Manage relationships with external suppliers and provide professional advice
- Adhere to IMechE policies and regulations
- Undertake additional duties as appropriate for the grade
- Cover for the Head of Business Partnering and deputise for the Associate Director of Finance
The successful Group Financial Reporting Manager will require the following skills and experience:
- Professionally qualified CCAB accountant with extensive post-qualification experience
- Experience as an auditor of not-for-profit organisations
- Familiarity with Charity SORP and Charity Commission requirements and guidance
- Expertise in producing or auditing Group Financial statements
- Responsible for reporting and consolidating activities within a group
- Skilled in staff management, particularly in multi-site or hybrid working environments
- Effective communicator who listens, understands, and presents complex data clearly
- Self-motivated individual with initiative and a drive to deliver impactful results
