Group Treasury Manager

I am partnering with an established PE backed business to recruit an exciting, newly created opportunity for a Group Treasury Manager who will lead on mitigation of foreign exchange risk across the Group.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading various treasury projects including execution of new hedging strategies and processes alongside identification and implementation of new systems to drive automation and continuous improvement.

Duties

* Taking a lead role in the ongoing hedging strategy project working alongside Tax and external advisors

* Identification and implementation of new systems to drive efficiencies and automation of foreign exchange strategies

* Opportunity to lead on or be involved in various wide-ranging Group Treasury projects such as scoping of a treasury management system. Team Management

* Direct line manager for 1-2 staff

* Manage the continuing development of team members.

Foreign Currency Management and Analysis

* The Group is currently undergoing a project to improve its foreign currency hedging processes and implement best practice.

* Develop, improve, and document the foreign exchange processes and policies across the Group, looking for automation and efficiencies and working with external advisors where necessary.

* Monitor adherence to foreign currency processes and policies across the Group, particularly in relation to cross currency trading and resulting intercompany loans.

* Provide regular high quality informative reporting on foreign currency positions and exposure to senior management.

* Oversee the production of regular foreign currency forecasts and sensitivity analysis to help pre-empt negative outcomes of currency fluctuations.

* Investigate and implement hedging tools across the Group to manage exposures.

* Provide oversight of the Group's monthly hedging process by reviewing the analysis produced by the team to identify and understand key drivers behind significant monthly currency exposures. * Work alongside other areas of the business including the wider Group Treasury team, Tax and Finance to ensure a coordinated approach is taken to managing risks.

* Responsible for adding value by looking at ways to mitigate the risk of foreign currency losses and taxable gains.

* Oversee the accurate accounting and management of external financial instruments, under both IFRS and UK GAAP

* Oversee the preparation of detailed workings for the annual Group interest recharges, notes to the financial statements relating to interest rate and foreign exchange risk.

* Management of the intercompany loan environment, ensuring that loans are regularly reviewed, only necessary loans are created, and that the foreign currency revaluation of these loans are accounted for correctly

. * Provide input from a currency exposure perspective to a range of intercompany loan situations, such as the structuring of new loan arrangements and the payment of dividends.

* Act as the main point of contact for foreign currency strategies across the Group, providing guidance to regional teams as required.

* Preparation of ad-hoc reports and analysis as required.

Ideal candidate:

* Qualified candidate with a minimum of 5 years post qualified experience, confident in dealing with complex accounting issues.

* Experience of foreign currency management in a multi-currency Group is required.

* Strong communication skills, with the ability to produce high quality reports suitable for Board level presentation.

* Experience of team management

* Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate extensive amounts of data from various sources to produce high quality analysis.

* Ability to take responsibility for delivering to deadlines as required

The role will report to the Head of Treasury and is based in Lancashire with hybrid working, going into the office once to twice a week
