We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Research Officer to join the new Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) at Southampton City Council. The post holder will play a key role in developing the research infrastructure and capacity in the council to support evidence-informed decision making around the wider determinants of health and health inequalities.
In this role, you will work closely with the HDRC team and academic partners to support the delivery of HDRC activities. You will have a vital role in establishing a Priority Setting Partnership to co-develop research priorities. As the HDRC develops, you will be responsible for establishing and running Communities of Practice for the HDRC priorities, and through these applying for research funding and managing funded research projects.
Educated to post-graduate level or equivalent experience, you will have experience in leading research projects or managing the day-to-day aspects of research projects. You will have experience in writing or supporting the development of research funding applications. You will also possess excellent communication skills and be able to translate complex, scientific language and concepts into easily understood materials.
