We have an opportunity for a Head of Corporate Risk to join our Senior

Management team.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The successful candidate will be required to cover a hybrid shift pattern between working from home and our Head Office in London, Cannon Street.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • A keen understanding of the delicate equilibrium between risk, control, and growth within the organisation.
  • A genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for fostering innovation and generating innovative ideas to address challenges and opportunities regarding risk.
  • An exceptional stakeholder engagement ability, adept at building and maintaining strong relationships across various levels of the organization including executive level.
  • Proficiency in conducting thematic risk assurance assessments, leveraging past experiences to identify emerging risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • A strong report writing capabilities coupled with the skill to convey complex subjects in a clear and concise manner, ensuring comprehension by diverse audiences.
  • Preferably bring a wealth of experience in the healthcare sector, providing valuable insights and expertise to navigate industry-specific complexities and regulations, however not essential.

Duties of this role include: 

  • Lead Operational Risk by meticulously reviewing and challenging business area risk profiles, key risk Indicators, management actions, and responses to events. Ensure that findings, risk impacts, and recommendations are thoroughly vetted with relevant stakeholder members and for the CHG executive board, and communicated effectively as required.
  • Contribute to the assessment and ongoing monitoring of CHG’s comprehensive risk profile in alignment with its risk appetite, while considering both internal and external developments and trends.
  • Enhance the application of risk appetite by refining and enriching directorate risk and control assessment activities, including the utilisation of KPIs, KRIs, and KCIs, employing suitable and consistent methodologies, models, and systems.
  • Identify opportunities for digitisation and automation in risk management processes to streamline operations and focus on value-added activities.
