Description
This role will report to the Chief Information Officer and will be responsible for providing strategic direction and management of the data functions supporting successful delivery of the Group's data strategy.
The Head of Data will be responsible for providing a sector leading, robust business intelligence (BI) service as well leading data governance and improvements in data quality.
They will have a key leadership role in ensuring the appropriate frameworks, governance, policies and processes are in place to enable the successful delivery of the data strategy.
Profile
Leadership
· You will provide leadership across the organisation in line with our organisational values and behaviours.
· Be visible to colleagues and attend offices 2-3 days a week (specifically Bradford and Peterborough).
· Act as strategic lead for the data strategy and culture at Accent.
· Lead a high performing team, providing strategic management, quality assurance, expert guidance and accountability.
· Be an active, engaged and contributing member of the Wider Leadership Team.
· Design, develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy ensuring alignment and support from the wider business.
· Provide advice and guidance to the Executive and Senior Leadership Teams by providing expertise and experience in all areas of Data including strategy, governance and quality.
· Provide strategic technical expertise in all areas including Business Intelligence (BI) report development, data engineering, data & information governance, change management and data quality.
· Proactively communicate and manage the team effectively, performance manage and support team members effectively in line with the Group's values.
· Ensure effective triage & prioritisation of requests into the team and strong stakeholder management and communication.
· Proactively manage resources and skills to ensure delivery against commitments.
· Develop and design an organisation-wide approach to data and act as ambassador of a data-driven culture.
· Manage relevant budgets including forecasting and management of financial performance.
· Provide clear performance measures including KPIs and team performance data to the Chief Information Officer.
Business Intelligence
· Develop and lead the Business Intelligence function to successfully deliver insights and reporting to the Group.
· Ensure the availability, reliability and integrity of the business intelligence function and that service availability and quality meets requirements.
· Ensure data that is required for regulatory returns is provided to support business owners.
· Ensure effective resource management and planning to support report delivery.
Data Governance
· Create, establish and manage a robust Data Governance Framework encompassing people, process and technology.
· Manage and be responsible for all data management policies linked to the governance framework.
· Implement a culture of Data ownership supported by robust processes.
Data Quality and Improvement
· Advocate adoption of the UK Housing Data Standard and ensure adoption is supported and facilitated where practical and contribute (with appropriate colleagues) to the co-design of future versions of the UK Housing Data Standard.
· Establish a clear understanding of areas of improvement and an appropriate action plan to address.
· Drive tangible improvements in data quality using metrics.
· Own the data quality tool set and all associated technology.
