Head of Finance | Folkestone/Hybrid | £45k - £47k
An established organisation based in the East Kent area are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join their growing team. The company operate a hybrid working pattern of a minimum 2 days a week in the office and 35 hours per week.
You will have recent team management experience with an all-round accounting skill set including management accounts, VAT returns and developing junior staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To undertake all accounting functions and oversee the production of monthly management accounts and year-end statutory accounts.
- To ensure the integrity of financial activities and financial records by developing, implementing, and maintaining accurate and efficient processes for all financial activity
- To ensure compliance with applicable laws and procedures
- To produce consistent and reliable financial reporting, monitoring accounts, activity reports and financial forecasts as required by internal and external stakeholders.
- To support in producing profitability analysis and financial strategy
- Attending and presenting to Financial Audit Committee and at Board level as and when required.
- Supporting the annual budget and cash flow forecast.
- Reviewing monthly management accounts including balance sheets and all reconciliations
- Oversee and review VAT returns before submission to HMRC.
- Preparing the statutory accounts for audit at year end for the charity
- Acting as key contact for the company with external parties including Bank Relationship Manager, HMRC and Auditors
- Overseeing the organisation Strategic Reserves and Investments through Asset Managers in line with our Core Values
- Any other duties as may be reasonably required.
Key Skills
- Full or part qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA, showing evidence of the skills required to produce accounts to Trial Balance.
- Evidence of experience of using finance software
- Experience of preparing management accounts including cashflow
- Experience of VAT
- Experience of overseeing annual audit processes
- Computer literacy and expert use of spreadsheets
