Head Of Finance

This position is for a Head of Finance who will oversee the financial management and regulatory compliance of a not-for-profit organisation. The role, based in Dover, requires strategic financial insight and strong leadership skills.

Description

· To undertake all accounting functions and oversee the production of monthly management accounts and year-end statutory accounts.

· To ensure the integrity of financial activities and financial records by developing, implementing, and maintaining accurate and efficient processes for all financial activity

· To ensure compliance with applicable laws and procedures

· To produce consistent and reliable financial reporting, monitoring accounts, activity reports and financial forecasts as required by internal and external stakeholders.

· To support the DDoF in producing profitability analysis and financial strategy

· Attending and presenting to Financial Audit Committee and at Board level as and when required.

· Supporting the DDoF to develop the annual budget and cash flow forecast.

· Reviewing monthly management accounts including balance sheets and all reconciliations for discussion with DDoF and DoFIQ

· Oversee and review VAT returns before submission to HMRC.

· Preparing the statutory accounts for audit at year end for the charity

· Acting as key contact for the company with external parties including Bank Relationship Manager, HMRC and Auditors

· Overseeing the organisation Strategic Reserves and Investments through Asset Managers in line with our Core Values

· Any other duties as may be reasonably required.

Profile

A successful Head of Finance should have:

• A professional accounting qualification, or be working towards one.
• Strong experience in financial leadership roles.
• Knowledge of Finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
• Understanding of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
• Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports and projections.
• Working knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting.
