We are seeking a Director of People to shape and execute our firm’s people strategy. This strategic leadership role is pivotal in enhancing employee engagement, fostering a positive workplace culture, and aligning HR initiatives with our business goals. The successful candidate will lead our HR team and partner with senior leaders to deliver effective HR programs and solutions.
Day to Day of the Role:- Develop and implement a comprehensive HR strategy that supports the firm’s objectives.
- Collaborate with senior management to proactively address workforce planning and talent acquisition.
- Oversee recruitment processes to attract top talent within the legal sector.
- Design and execute talent retention, career development, and succession planning strategies.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on complex HR issues, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Implement policies and procedures that promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Lead performance management processes that support the firm’s strategic goals.
- Guide performance improvement and employee development initiatives.
- Identify training needs and collaborate with the Training Committee to design development programs.
- Manage compensation and benefits programs, ensuring market competitiveness.
- Ensure compliance with UK employment laws and provide legal guidance to management.
- Coach and mentor department heads and senior colleagues on leadership and development.
- Manage annual HR budgets and provide strategic leadership to the HR business unit.
- Level 7 CIPD accreditation or a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Psychology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of HR leadership experience, preferably within the legal industry.
- Professional communication skills, both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated positive attitude and ability to lead and inspire an HR team.
