A rare opportunity has arisen for a talented and enthusiastic HR Professional to join the University’s People Services department and play a key role in the achievement of our People Aims and Objectives. The successful candidate will lead the continuous development and improvement of the Partnering and Advisory service, and the associated policies, processes and systems, ensuring that all remain up-to-date and fit for purpose.


The People Services department is a fully-comprehensive People and OD Team and is responsible for:

·      Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

·      Health, Safety and Wellbeing

·      Human Resources (Partnering and Advisory Services through a functional model)

·      Organisational Development

·      Workforce Systems and Data


The People Services Priorities, Vision and Purpose is clearly documented and aims to:

·      Support the delivery of Strategy 2030 by facilitating improved organisational effectiveness, through building the confidence, capability and capacity of the community and aligning organisational processes, structures and culture;

·      Responding to evolving university needs in a rapidly changing environment, putting people at the heart of our processes, working with individuals, teams, and at an organisational level, engaging stakeholders to inform and create sustainable impact.


Applicants should hold a relevant professional qualification, such as Chartered Membership status of the CIPD, and be educated to degree level or be able to demonstrate comparable levels of aptitude or experience. You will have a proven track record in a relevant People, HR or OD role and have demonstrable experience of effectively implementing Talent, Reward and Staff Engagement policies. You will also possess solid knowledge and experience of HR employment legislation and risk management, along with experience of leading or implementing significant HR projects and/or major organisational change.
