The business has an enviable track record of manufacturing, marketing, NPD and people development investment, with a professional highly collaborative cross-functional Sales & Marketing team.
As part of the board’s vision to achieve further profitable sales growth across the all-important Retail channel, they are looking to appoint a dynamic and highly capable commercial leader.
The role
Leading from the front, you will manage a talented and motivated National Account Team with channel P&L responsibility, managing brand and own label products right through a large, fast-moving grocery category. You will manage and shape effective business strategies for the Grocery channel and each major customer to ensure the optimum range, pricing, merchandising and promotion activities are focused on delivering your profitable sales objectives.
This is a high-profile centre stage role, where through your team you will shape and control the business performance and really make a big difference. The company is committed to the development of their staff and as such, this role offers the opportunity to grow your future commercial experience, capabilities and skill set towards a future Sales Director appointment.
About you
- You are highly commercial with a successful career development track record including experience of managing Aldi, Tesco, Sainsbury and Asda or Morrisons, over a minimum period of 5 years.
- You have at least 2 years’ NAM team management experience in the Grocery Retail Multiples.
- Recent food product experience MUST include one of the fastest selling, industry leading categories i.e. milk, bread, fruit or vegetables, so including a strong end-to-end supply chain understanding.
- You’re likely currently working in a big SNAM role or at Controller/Account Director level within a large own-label or own-label & branded mix business with experience of shaping and implementing major account strategies.
- With a highly personable and engaging ‘people’ style, you are driven and motivated about team leadership, seeing NAMs grow, developing their skills and capabilities with relentless support, to help them achieve their future profitable sales growth objectives.
