Head of Store Sales

MacGregor Black are proudly partnering with a Leading UK Consumer Products Retailer who are on the search for a Head of Store Sales. This is a permanent, hybrid role commutable to Birmingham.
As the Head of Store Sales, you will be responsible for driving the operational and financial success of our 97 stores. This leadership position demands a strong strategic vision, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of Retail Operations and sales management. The Head of Store Sales reports to the CEO. You will be responsible for optimizing store and catchment performance, enhancing customer experience, driving the development of our colleagues, and achieving revenue and profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all strategic and operational aspects of our stores in the UK and ensure adherence to and development of company standards and best practices.
- Develop and ensure operational procedures to optimize efficiency, customer service, and inventory management.
- Directly manage, lead, and inspire a team of five Regional Managers and indirectly 97 Store Managers and overall responsibility of colleagues nationally. Establish effective colleague development and succession processes to support continuous improvement and colleague retention.
- Support and develop business and sales strategies to drive growth and increase profitability in the store network to meet set targets.
- Manage and monitor budget and financial performance of all stores and analyze key financial metrics and data to make data-driven decisions to achieve financial objectives.
- Collaborate with different departments to align store operations strategies with business goals and to set up and execute improvement initiatives.
- Drive a customer-centric approach across all stores by implementing strategies to enhance the in-store shopping experience and support the seamless experience across the full end-to-end customer journey.
- Develop and execute plans for store expansions, new store formats, and renovations.
- Deploy, monitor, and review KPIs to measure performance and enable improvement projects.
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
What are we looking for?
- 10+ years of mid-level or senior-level experience in retail store management (B2B and B2C), with a proven track record of success are required.
- Experienced in working in a fast-paced and lean environment.
- The ability to operate strategically while ensuring operational control.
- Results-focused and executing with a hands-on leadership style.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, and the ability to analyze financial results.
- A self-starter who enjoys juggling multiple issues at one time and has the ability to organize and direct diverse activities in a changing environment.
- Well-developed leadership skills, strong conceptual thinking, a hands-on approach, and the charisma to make things happen.
- Able to provide organizational and individual direction, mentoring, and professional development for teams.
- A collaborative leader and team player, able to work effectively across an organization and a wider leadership team.
- A robust character – Prepared to make difficult decisions when needed - including those involving people and standards. Has the personal resilience to challenge on key matters and influence others.
