About the role:
As Head of Sales you will lead the growing Business Development and Account Management functions at heycar to onboard new dealers to our platform successfully and deliver a class-leading service to them as well as to our car manufacturer (OEMs) and third-party partners. A proven leader of people you'll know how to motivate the team, set stretch goals, ensure pipelines are full and contact plans are tracked. You'll need an entrepreneurial spirit to bring a radical change to innovate the used car industry.
What you'll do:
- Leadership: Leading and building the Business Development and Account Management functions by setting strategy and defining processes; you'll create playbooks and bed in processes that secure our long-term success
- Data-driven and analytical: Consistently reviewing data to find patterns of success, and bring new ideas to life at heycar. What indicators show a client is likely to renew? Do certain metrics highlight expansion opportunities? Which features drive satisfaction and lead to up-sell opportunities? You'll also use data to drive the weekly/monthly cadence within the Account Management team
- Hiring, talent and training: As a seasoned leader you'll know the importance of finding and hiring the best Business Development Consultants and Account Managers to reach and onboard prospects build trusted relationships and advise heycar's customers. You'll manage your talent pipeline in the same way that you manage your sales pipeline so that it is predictable and repeatable. You'll provide effective coaching, deliver regular training programmes, and support your team to become ever more successful in their roles
- Innovation: As one of the senior revenue leaders, you're empowered to build the Business Development and Account Management functions, make decisions and innovate. You do so with other teams in mind, collaborating to ensure your strategy is aligned with those around you. No function is an island, so your long-term success will depend on collaborating well with others
- Revenue generation and growth: You'll be expected to provide regular and accurate reports and forecasts to the Chief Executive Officer. This will include: detailed and insightful commentary on pipeline, revenue growth, forecast delivery, individual performance, remuneration, significant won/lost accounts and team KPIs
What you'll need:
- Experience: you're proven at leading and scaling teams of 5+ in the sales/commercial space
- Exemplary attention to detail: a passion for high-quality output in all materials you produce
- Energy and drive: you're the internal cheerleader for the revenue-generating side of the business
- Superior relationship skills: forging and maintaining strong relationships both internally and externally is second-nature to you. You'll have a natural ability to build rapport quickly, and you're committed to adding value to all your interactions
- Analytical: you're confident working with dashboards, data and technology. You know how valuable they are, and how to utilise their insights to drive performance across the team
- Team player: you have the wisdom and vulnerability to know that you don't know everything, and the humility to ask for help from those around you. You want to be part of a wider team that celebrates success together
What we'll give you:
- Compensation: We offer a competitive salary of up to £70k base + 50% bonus
- Holidays: We want you to relax, you'll have 28 days off (plus bank holidays) throughout the year. We also give you an extra day off to enjoy your birthday!
