Job Introduction

The Head of Systems & Data will be responsible for the Systems Ecosystem and lead on strategy for Systems and Data to support the JV deliverables and contractual obligations.

The Head of Systems and Data will maintain and improve appropriate Systems & Data architecture governance for the state of the project and ensure understanding of the estate is maintained in the IT department and wider project functions. The role will also be the line manager for Systems & Data team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Systems & Data architecture governance based on TOGAF to support operations, decision making and cyber/infosec.
  • Be accountable for Systems & Data activities across SCSJV Ecosystem, supporting technical assurance at all levels.
  • Own technical design authority and ensure relevant technical representatives and suppliers are engaged
  • Work with functional departments to ensure the consistent application of standards and data quality policies across all technology projects, systems, and services.
  • Be accountable for the development of the integration capabilities across core systems
  • Own the development and management for all systems and required integrations to meet project deliverables and contractual obligations.
  • Develop, maintain and foster data quality awareness
  • Work with the customer HS2, parent companies and relevant SCS JV departments to align overall Systems & Data architecture models and standards against best practice.
  • Mentor other team members in architecture and IT/business leadership
The Ideal Candidate

Essential:

  • Proficient with solution architecture development and exploitation
  • Good understanding of TOGAF/Solution architecture experience
  • Good understanding of the different architecture domains
  • Background in systems and data domains
  • Proven track record in technical person management
  • Significant supplier management experience of both SME and Global Tech Suppliers
  • Experience in driving data strategy
  • Ability to work with ambiguity or incomplete information (80/20)

Desirable:

  • IT Strategy development
  • Cloud Experience (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) - especially Azure
  • LeanIX experience
About The Company

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK’s new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK’s 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed services

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
