STAR Service is Short Term Assessment and Reablement service provided by Sandwell Council. Working with people (over 18yrs of age) in their own homes, we aim to support and encourage them to regain and retain as much of their independence as possible.
The service works closely with Community Health colleagues and other parties to ensure that all aspects of the individual’s health and wellbeing is looked after.
Tasks include;
- Supporting with all aspects personal care
- Meal preparation
- Supervising/administering medication
- Encouraging exercise regimes
- Basic Shopping
Education Requirements
- Willingness to achieve NVQ 2 in care or equivalent
Whilst previous care experience is desirable, it is not essential and full training and support will be provided.
You need to have a kind, warm and caring nature.
You must be a car owner and possess a full valid drivers' licence.
You will also be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check.
Hours
20hr, 24hrs 28hrs & 32hr contracts available operating on various shift patterns and rotas.
Shift allowances and/or enhancements for evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Mileage allowance available..
