Are you able to proactively lead a Housing Advice & Prevention team with a focus on homelessness prevention?
Following a recent restructure of the Housing Needs Unit at Newport City Council we are recruiting for a Housing Advice and Prevention Team Leader on a fixed term contract.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, organised, and experienced Team Leader to ensure the provision of a comprehensive, trauma-informed Housing Advice and housing interventions service.
You will manage the day-to-day caseload of Housing Advice and Prevention Officers and take a pro-active approach to the prevention of homelessness utilising all available resources to assist clients in retaining accommodation.
You will develop and monitor delivery of effective trauma-informed support packages, take the operational lead on applications for the Home Options Scheme and act in accordance with Welsh Government’s aspiration of homelessness being ‘rare, brief and unrepeated’
You will lead the operational delivery of the Housing Advice and Prevention Team by establishing, maintaining and developing multi-agency approaches to dealing with homelessness and homelessness prevention.
The post is primarily based at the Central Library Museum, with some home working. Internal Secondments will be considered.
