Job description

Do you have a genuine passion to want to help people sustain their accommodation?
We are currently recruiting a Housing Officer to join our small friendly Estates Team.
The Estates team supply quality housing for our supported accommodation clients, fit for purpose offices for staff and provide an efficient property management service.

You will speak to clients on the phone, face to face and by letter, and you will work alongside the team of Support Workers, finance department, landlords, social services, the police and other external agencies.
This role will directly contribute to changing the lives of vulnerable and homeless people by supporting them to maintain their accommodation. Dealing directly with clients this job can be highly rewarding and although demanding on several levels, it’s also a varied role that will keep you stimulated.
This role offers hybrid working, we have offices in Oxford, Milton Keynes, Aylesbury and High Wycombe so can be flexible on office location. You will be expected to travel to our properties most of which are in Oxfordshire, and offices when required therefore a drivers licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

Salary £25,380 - £28,949 per annum, dependent on experience.
Closing date: Friday 19th January.
Interview date: Tuesday 30th January and Thursday 1st February
About you
You will have professional experience in housing management, and a good understanding of dealing with tenants from a wide range of backgrounds. It would be amazing if you have knowledge of housing best practice and legal requirements, however as long as you are willing to research then this is not essential.
Your excellent communication and customer service skills allow you to deliver messages in a clear way, managing expectations, whilst understanding the importance of building effective relationships and working collaboratively with our clients, colleagues and external agencies, treating people with respect, dignity, and empathy.
You have strong IT skills and are highly organised, calm under pressure, a strong team player who can also work on your own initiative, and most importantly, like our charity, you are passionate about our no-judgement, person-centred approach.
