This opportunity is perfect for a person with a passion and commitment to working with young adults who experience varying levels of mental health needs. You will assist in developing the life and skills young people of all genders need as the grow into adulthood. We are looking for someone who is genuinely invested in young person’s lives and advocating for their needs and rights. You will be approachable and adaptable to tailor your approaches to the individual.
Support Workers help young people to:
- Understand their tenancy responsibilities
- Live alongside others and accept the differences in people
- Develop their own awareness and skills
- Reflect on their lives and plan for the future
- Find positive move on in housing and in life
- Improve their relationships
- Achieve their potential
The service is situated in Wythenshawe South Manchester and provides a 24 hour supported service which is consists of 11 flats and a shared house for up to 6 young people. Wythenshawe is connected with good transport links and a range of local amenities close to the service. Bus services and metro links are within a few minutes waking distance.
Experience of providing support to individuals with mental health needs is desirable but not essential. We value a desire and commitment to work alongside young people, promoting positive change in their lives and helping them to achieve their aspirations.
