We are looking for a new member of the HR team to help Avon Protection in its journey of transformation and growth where Continuous Improvement (CI) is a priority for us. With a new CEO onboard, change is key.
Based at Hampton Park West Melksham, Wiltshire (4 days a week onsite) and reporting to the HR Director, the main purpose of this role is to support the HR Department in the daily administration of its activities, helping to provide an efficient and effective service to the Respiratory Strategic Business Unit and Corporate teams. Once settled into the role, the HR team will support your development giving you new opportunities when they arise with the aim of you moving into an HR Advisor position when appropriate. The business has operations in the US so you will be expected to collaborate with our US HR team and managers too.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the administration of the HR function.
- Provide support with the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding and employees exiting the business.
- Maintain employee records and documentation, including sickness, holiday and time and attendance.
- Administer the Occupational Health process.
- Prepare HR documents and communications for distribution.
- Ensure that internal databases/systems are kept up to date and accurate.
- Provide support with reviewing and updating Company policies.
- Provide support with payroll related activities.
- Support the HR team with disciplinaries and grievances when required.
- Support the rollout of mandatory training for shop floor employees.
- Support Company initiatives such as Great Place to Work.
- Assist with general employee HR queries.
Background & Skills:
Essential
- Previous experience working in HR (we need someone who can hit the ground running in this instance),
- Excellent communication skills.
- The ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with an interest in technology.
- A willingness to learn.
- The ability to work as part of a team.
- A Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset.
Desirable
- A working knowledge of UK employment law.
- An interest in People Analytics.
