Hr Advisor (Part-Time)

P/T HR Advisor required for ongoing contract.Opus People Solutions on behalf of Wyre Forest District Council are looking for a HR Advisor to join the HR team on a part -time basis (20 hours per week). This exciting hybrid opportunity is a job share and the working days will be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The HR function plays a key role in the smooth running of the Council and this exciting opportunity will be supporting the delivery of the People and Organisation Development Strategy.As a HR Advisoryour role will include:

• Providing first line HR advisory services regarding employee relations.
• Supporting managers across the Council in people management; attending meetings and providing guidance.
• Supporting managers with absence management.
• Handling maternity and paternity request.
• Assisting with the updating of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives.
• Managing HR information systems for data input and statistical analysis.

The ideal candidate will be CIPD qualified and have skills and experience in the following:

• Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and an understanding how this can impact the business
• A team player with a track record of working successfully as an HR Advisor.
• Knowledge of TUPE.
• Experience of managing redundancy and change management.
• Significant case management experience in disciplinary, grievance and effective investigation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, organised and flexible to respond to customer needs.
• Ability to working to deadlines and prioritising own workload
• Emotional intelligence, customer focus, empathy and understanding.
• Competent written skills.
• Problem Solving Skills.
