P/T HR Advisor required for ongoing contract.Opus People Solutions on behalf of Wyre Forest District Council are looking for a HR Advisor to join the HR team on a part -time basis (20 hours per week). This exciting hybrid opportunity is a job share and the working days will be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The HR function plays a key role in the smooth running of the Council and this exciting opportunity will be supporting the delivery of the People and Organisation Development Strategy.As a HR Advisoryour role will include:
- Providing first line HR advisory services regarding employee relations.
- Supporting managers across the Council in people management; attending meetings and providing guidance.
- Supporting managers with absence management.
- Handling maternity and paternity request.
- Assisting with the updating of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives.
- Managing HR information systems for data input and statistical analysis.
The ideal candidate will be CIPD qualified and have skills and experience in the following:
- Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and an understanding how this can impact the business
- A team player with a track record of working successfully as an HR Advisor.
- Knowledge of TUPE.
- Experience of managing redundancy and change management.
- Significant case management experience in disciplinary, grievance and effective investigation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, organised and flexible to respond to customer needs.
- Ability to working to deadlines and prioritising own workload
- Emotional intelligence, customer focus, empathy and understanding.
- Competent written skills.
- Problem Solving Skills.
