Purpose of the role
- Provide generalist support to ER Managers to ensure delivery of an effective and professional HR service to GWR managers and employees on all people policies and procedures with a consistent approach
- Support Line Managers with providing a professional advisory service in relation to all employee matters
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for supporting ER Managers by providing a professional Human Resources advisory service to line managers and employees on all employment matters including employment legislations, terms and conditions of employment and Company policies and procedures.
- Provide Line Managers with advice and guidance on a range of employment matters including disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence management issues and other relevant casework.
- Provide additional support to ER Managers and Line Managers by attending investigatory interviews, hearings, and meetings as appropriate
- Support ER Managers in developing managers' competence through coaching/facilitating during day-to-day management activities including holding local briefings.
Personnel Specification
- ER Caseworking experience
- Willing to travel when needed (Travel covered)
- CIPD or unionised environment experience desirable
