HR Business Partner
Location: York, North Yorkshire

Salary: Up to £50,000
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated HR Business Partner to join a leading charity based in York. This role offers the chance to become a trusted people partner within the operational and support services management teams, working across various business sectors and regions. The successful candidate will be an ambassador for the organisation’s culture and values, ensuring they are embedded in people practices.
Day to day of the role:
- Partner effectively with operational and support service teams to proactively identify solutions and initiatives that will deliver improved performance and business objectives.
- Identify regional trends/issues and highlight them to the Director of People and Organisation Development and the People Business Partner Manager.
- Understand and anticipate the need for change, diagnose underlying issues, and build the case for change with managers.
- Coach and build the capability of managers to anticipate and pre-empt organisational issues, providing challenge and influence where appropriate.
- Participate in and lead relevant projects, championing as appropriate.
- Provide professional HR advice, influence, information, and support to Managers throughout the organisation.
- Contribute to the development of effective People-related policies, procedures, and practices that support the strategic aims of the organisation.
- Contribute to effective change management solutions, ensuring consistent standards are maintained in line with relevant legislation.
- Provide day-to-day leadership to drive delivery of the strategic people plan.
- Actively manage and support Managers in complex employee relations casework, attending formal meetings as required.
- Assist the People Business Partner Manager with Employment Tribunal cases as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role.
- Strong understanding of HR functions and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
- Superb computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office, and related HR software.
- Remarkable organisational and conflict management skills.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to build rapport and collaborate with others within the company and externally.
