Hunter Adams is working with a global aviation organisation to source an experienced HR Employee Relations Partner.
This is a full time, permanent position, which is UK / Aberdeen based. Hybrid working is available alongside occasional travel to various sites. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone with experience of employment legislation and regulations in a European capacity, including UK, Ireland and Netherlands.
About the role
The HR Employee and Labour Relations Partner will oversee employee and labour relations with employees, management, and labour unions across the Business Units, providing HR guidance, analysing metrics, resolving Employee Relations issues, and collaborating with the European and global HR teams to enhance work relationships and productivity.
Responsibilities will include providing specialist advice, leading on employment-related matters such as disciplinary cases and performance improvement, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies, and making recommendations for policy development aligned with strategic objectives. The position requires a coaching approach to support managers in handling people-management issues and interpreting policies, fostering positive Employee Relations across the European operation while adhering to HR best practices and employment legislation.
Key activities will include:
- Advise, guide and support managers with all matters relating to Employee Relations
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with employees, management, and labour unions across the Business Units
- Ensure compliance with country specific labour laws and regulations
- Support Labour negotiations by researching market analysis and trend data
- Effective case management of people related issues such as: disciplinaries, performance management, grievance, and absence management
- Monitoring trends in employment practices and advising on appropriate proactive action
- Support, research and provide recommendations on related benefit programmes and providing analytical statistics and market comparisons
- Manage end-to end change / restructuring process including Consultation requirements and Social Plan negotiations (severance calculation, advice on legal requirements, Works Council/Unions negotiations)
- Supporting diversity & inclusion by providing accurate and appropriate advice, training, and support to managers to ensure attraction and retention strategies align with market conditions
- Driving individual & organisational performance by advising on performance management policy and creating clear, realistic, and measurable objectives
- Tracking ER activity against agreed metrics, supporting with identifying themes and recommending areas for improvement/ training
- Supporting management on workforce planning and identifying productivity and efficiency improvements
About you
- HR and Employment Law Qualifications
- European wide labour relations experience and knowledge – advantageous
- Experience in aviation environment
- Experience in similar Employee Relations and Trade Union negotiation support role
- Demonstrated ability to follow procedures/processes but understand when to work to own initiative
- Experience in training delivery
