Our client is the leading provider of outside broadcasting, fixed rig, and remote production and media workflow solutions. With over 35 years of experience serving the broadcast and live events industry, delivering the highest quality content with credits including British Horse Racing including The Grand National, Royal Ascot and Cheltenham Festival, WWE NXT, The Premier League, Love Island, Formula 1, UEFA Euros, and host broadcasters for the Wimbledon Tennis Championships.

In order to be considered for this role, you must have strong Employee Relations and Employment Law knowledge.

The Role:

The HR Generalist is a varied role supporting the HR Manager to provide expert advice and daily support to all employees. The HR Generalist will provide first line support and advice to employees and managers on a broad range of people related matters using their knowledge of HR policies, best practice, and employment law to protect the interests of the organisation and its employees.

You will work collaboratively with the HR team to deliver support and guidance in all aspects of the employee life cycle including onboarding, offboarding, recruitment, benefits, L&D, employee relations and people management. The HR Generalist will be expected to continuously develop the knowledge and expertise in all of these areas and keep up to date with any relevant legislative changes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first line support to managers for all queries including but not limited to absence management, performance management, probations, learning and development, recruitment, disciplinary and grievances, escalating to the Head of HR or legal team where necessary.
  • Manage the administration processes in relation to onboarding, including;
  • Creating employment contract templates as per approved terms and conditions
  • Manage all onboarding tasks through to completion, including; creating new employee records; updating HR database, requesting IT onboarding, and scheduling essential induction meetings with relevant parties
  • Manage the administration processes in relation to offboarding, including;
  • Manage all offboarding tasks through to completion, including; archiving employee records; updating HR database (i.e. Employment Hero); requesting IT offboarding, and notifying immigration and insurance companies;
  • Ensuring final pay details are provided for payroll
  • Provide support and advice to hiring managers throughout the recruitment process; writing and posting job adverts, liaising with employment agencies, benchmarking salaries, screening candidates, arranging interviews and making employment offers
  • Advise managers on queries related to performance, promotion, bonus and salary review processes and ensure completion of any related administrative tasks i.e. change of terms letters, updating payroll etc.
  • Monitors sickness absence/pay (length, reasons, recurrences, etc.), and produces insightful monthly reports. Signpost any areas of concern and make recommendations for managing absence and supporting employees back to work.
  • Ensure all employee data is kept up to date and recorded accurately and in line with Company Data Protection Policy and local legislation. This includes maintaining employe HR files and managing the HR database.
  • Support with the management and administration of employee benefits
  • Collate data for monthly payroll submissions and submit to HR Manager for review, in time to meet payroll deadlines.
  • Play an active role in the implementation and communication of any new HR initiatives, working with local stakeholders to support a successful roll out.
  • General administrative duties as required.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years in a similar position
  • A degree, or equivalent qualification such as CIPD Level 5, in Human Resources will be desirable.
  • Practical knowledge of employment law in the UK and Ireland.
  • Clear and demonstrable expertise of HR best practice and processes.
  • Advanced level of Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Detail orientated and process driver with a focus on process improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates an ability to communicate effectively with employees and stakeholders at all levels of the organization and adapt their communication style as appropriate.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and expertise amongst the team and other members of staff.
