Working hours Monday Friday, 8am 4:30pm but must be willing to be flexible when required
Salary Up to GBP48,000 per annum dependant upon experience
Our client is a leading aluminium and energy company committed to a sustainable future. Their purpose is to create more viable societies by developing natural resources into products and solutions in innovative and efficient ways. They are currently seeking applications for the position of HSE Manager based at their site in Cheltenham.
The individual will have to be motivated, flexible, efficient in execution and able to manage timelines. It is of key importance to work well with the operational teams as well as across the organisation.
The process engineer will play a key role in driving systematic improvements in our client s aluminium extrusion and recycling plants. This includes establishing best practices and implementing these in a busy production environment operating continuous shifts. The individual will have to be motivated, flexible, efficient in execution and able to manage timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to, and promote, all required health and safety and welfare policies that are established by the company.
- Evaluate and ensure the legal compliance of the plant in HSE topics
- To review and update HSE policies and conduct / update risk assessments as and when required.
- Deploy the corporate initiatives in HSE into the plant
- Support in maintaining the companies ISO 14001 (environmental) and OHSAS 18001 (health and safety), (ISO 45001 PLUS 50001) when implemented, approved management systems.
- Supporting ASI certification
- Support in third party and Hydro group site audits and inspections.
- Provide support and advice to team members on EHS and management system issues.
- Conduct internal audits and inspections of manufacturing and contractor processes and business departments and resolution tracking.
- Involvement in continual improvement initiatives on manufacturing and business processes, in EHS management with the aim of improved EHS performance.
- Develop and maintain procedures for EHS management and supporting the planning and implementation process.
- Administration of computer and database systems, including maintenance of records and preparation of documents for issue.
- Support and participate in EHS activities, including risk identification and management.
- Plan, prepare and carry out in-house training when requested.
- Report key information as specified by line management.
- Maintain EHS notice boards and communications.
- To mentor the HSE Technician Apprentice and Production Teams to aid development.
Experience & Qualifications
- Advising managers and working within a management team
- Operational experience
- Engineering/manufacturing background
- Administering health and safety
- Environmental qualifications
- Driving licence essential
- Essential ?? NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
- Environmental qualification would be beneficial. I.E ?? PIEMA
- Experience in managing ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 is desirable.
