Job description

This key role is responsible for the delivery of ICT technical And Development projects within ICT Services; the challenge facing the applicant is to work with the technical team to deliver infrastructure, and service areas for business application solutions across all service areas supporting applications common to Local Government. Security and standards are key, as is the drive to deliver economic, efficient, and effective solutions for our customers. This post holds senior responsibility for the delivery of the Rushcliffe Borough Service Improvement portfolio, which include the Digital-by-Design and infrastructure programmes.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Engage with the business (service areas) providing account management for ICT ensuring a strong link is maintained between ICT Strategy/Service and the business.
  • Provide the business with consultancy services for Change (BIT / Lean), Business Cases, System Reviews, Benefits Realisation, Business Systems (for example software applications / agile working technologies), Project and Programme Management, and Development using Prince2 Methodologies.
  • Carry out appropriate due diligence including privacy impact assessment in relation to any new project / solution.
  • Identify opportunities, create, and implement innovative business solutions.  Actively promote the techniques and technologies that drive constant improvement to the electronic delivery of Council Services to support and promote Digital and Transformation programmes.
  • You will need the ability to map out business processes to support digital transformation change where appropriate.
  • Analyse report data to identify and exploit new opportunities to improve businesses processes.
  • Support the organisation through effective ‘Business Intelligence’ (BI) by producing reports, which improve decision making, from any of the Council’s software solutions, utilising technical skills and knowledge to navigate the various complexities of multiple database environments including SQL, and Access amongst others.
  • Identify information management improvement opportunities in line with the Information Management Strategy and drive through implementation to assure the security of information assets.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate experience working on their own initiative, to assist the Chief Information Officer in the development of transformation across all service areas, and business system analysis to identify service improvements, and embed Information Management and Governance practises.
