Pay Scale: £36,141- £40,157 (Full time equivalent)
Hours: 4 or 5 days a week
Location: GoodGym supports remote working. We have an office space in London for staff to use if they wish. Staff have the choice of working remotely, using the office space or a hybrid of both. 9 Month Contract

GoodGym is a charity that combines exercise with volunteering. Our members run, walk, or cycle to do physical tasks for community projects and to support isolated and older people.

You’ll help us to secure funding for our work across the UK and bring GoodGym to new areas.
ABOUT YOU
You’ll have experience of securing income from a range of sources including grants, partnerships and the public sector.
You’ll know how to build and maintain relationships with funders.
You’ll understand and share a passion for our values and mission: creating happier, healthier and better connected communities. You might even be a GoodGymer yourself.
You’re a great written communicator, skilled at creating inspiring cases for support and written applications to grant-making organisations.
You’re organised and can work to deadlines set to us from funders, commissioners and councils.
You’ll understand the wider funding landscape and help GoodGym to connect to opportunities to address key social issues: isolation, disconnection, physical inactivity.
GOAL OF THE ROLE
The goal of the role is to generate more income than is required to run GoodGym each year
Performance will be assessed on:
- Revenue generated against annual target
- Quality of pipeline, process and output - examples include: relevant opportunities identified, process that matches targets, and that accurately and positively presents our work and potential
Responsibilities and duties
Core responsibilities and accountability:
- Responsibility for established funding relationships including public sector, brand partnerships, and grant givers.
- Identifying funding opportunities in the public sector, grant funding and with brand partners.
- Producing and supporting the production of proposals for funders and partners.
- Finalising contracts with partners and funders.
- Ensuring all funding is invoiced for and chased if necessary.
- Line management of our Trusts and Grants Officer
Strategy:
Working with others to ensure that the financial strategy and the organisational strategy are compatible.
Staying informed on changes and trends in funding and working with the management team to keep in line with trends.
Reporting:
- Ensuring reporting to funders is executed to a high standard.
- Working with teams across the organisation to ensure data collection meets the needs of funders.
- Producing income reports for review by trustees meetings.
Responsibilities in relation to our operations:
- Understanding the barriers and enablers for operational work in relation to partnerships.
- Ensuring operational teams are consulted on proposals that affect them.
- Contributing feedback and learning on the demands of the sector to the operational teams.
Responsibilities in relation to communications:
- Building the GoodGym brand and reputation through your interactions and communications, particularly amongst potential and existing funders.
- Alerting our comms team to organisations we should be communicating with on public platforms
- Ensuring that our comms reflect our obligations and objectives in relation to our partnerships.
- Identifying or requesting case studies.
- Suggesting or contributing to stories for the purposes of income generation.
- Presenting our work at conferences and events as an attendee or speaker.
- Maintaining a list of contact details for adding to our mailing list
Responsibilities in relation to our technology:
- Understanding and feeding back on how our tech platform can be improved.
- Contributing ideas for features that would improve our value to funders.
