Job Title:                              Inclusion Manager

 

Directorate:                        Voice and Support

Reports to:                          Head of Support and Inclusion

Direct Reports:                   Inclusion Officer

Location:                              Home based with regular travel to Lingfield and London

Hours of Work:                  30 hours per week, all year round

Salary:                                   £37,750 FTE/£30,200 pro rata

Contract:                             All year, Permanent.

Inclusion Manager

 

Our research tells us that children with epilepsy are missing out on childhood. Teachers and other professionals lack the understanding required to fully support children with epilepsy in school and other youth settings and as a result children are missing out on their education, on a social life and falling behind in their studies

We are seeking an outstanding candidate who can develop the training, resources, support and information needed to ensure all children and young people with epilepsy are fully included in education, sport and society.

 

About Young Epilepsy

Young Epilepsy is the children and young people’s epilepsy charity. Our purpose is to create a society in which children and young people with epilepsy are enabled to thrive and fulfil their potential, in which their voices are respected, and their ambitions realised.

 

We work with children and young people across the UK providing Support and Information to children and young people with epilepsy.

About the role

 

The first priority in the role will be to develop Young Epilepsy’s Inclusion strategy and programme

This includes:

  • developing the relevant resources, training and information needed for professionals working with children and young people with epilepsy, leading on the development and provision of online and face-to-face training for education professionals, to improve epilepsy understanding and awareness developing information and resources relevant to schools and higher education institutions, so they can better support children with epilepsy developing a new certification programme for education settings to become ‘Epilepsy Positive’.

An innovative self-starter? A creative and proactive problem-solver? Able to work on your own initiative and as part of a diverse team? Aware and curious about the youth, support and education landscape and what is impacting young people and professionals today? The ideal candidate will be educated to Degree level or equivalent with GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English

 

With experience in:

 

working in the education or youth sectors, project management managing and motivating a team developing and delivering external training courses, in person and online. using digital communication tools, writing web copy, and developing digital resources. managing budgets The benefits:
