Citizens Advice and Rights Fife (CARF) is Fife’s leading independent advice organisation providing holistic advice and support to local people for over 25 years. Our service is as important as ever and the organisation is keen to further its work in relieving fuel poverty following a successful application to the British Gas Energy Trust alongside our Cosy Kingdom partners.
The Income Maximisation Worker will deliver an Income Maximisation service to those affected by fuel poverty related issues across Fife, providing personalised advice and support. This service will include assessing welfare benefit entitlement and budgeting assistance while also actively referring both internally and externally where further issues are identified e.g. debt issues.
You will work as part of a small team including staff from Greener Kirkcaldy, contributing to the wider fuel poverty relief work taking place in Fife. With fuel poverty related issues rising amidst the current cost of living crisis, you will positively impact on those experiencing the effects of fuel poverty.
You will be expected to keep your skills, knowledge and experience up-to-date in all key areas of advice and service delivery to allow you to undertake quality of advice checks as well as provide the highest possible service to clients of CARF.
You will have a good standard of education, high quality personal skills and a desire to improve lives. Experience of working in an advice giving capacity and/or a knowledge or interest in the social security system would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently as well as supporting and delivering on CARF’s vision and values.
We are committed to Equal Opportunities and applications are welcome from all communities. The closing date for applications is 12noon on Monday 27th May with interviews scheduled to take place on Friday 7th and Monday 10th June.
