Information Governance Officer

With You are recruiting for an Information Governance Officer, to be a key member of our IG team, implementing and delivering our IG strategy. If you are looking for a varied role, working collaboratively with our Data Protection Officer to develop and manage effective IG processes to meet statutory and regulatory requirements and coordinate policies, guidance and training, we’d love to hear from you.

The postholder will be a champion for robust, ethical and effective Information Governance across With You services, working with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure compliance and understanding of data protection within our staff. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the IG work plan to ensure the organisation meets adequate IG standards and will use your experience to support the annual review and update cycle of policies and procedures and assist the DPO in the review of training material. A key part of this role will be to provide advice, guidance and interpretation on matters relating to IG to colleagues across the organisation, to ensure the organisation minimises risk and meets legal obligations.

As a confident IG Officer, with experience gained ideally in the Health and Social Care field, you will have exceptional communication skills and will be able to adapt your communication style to explain complex and technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders. You will have a good understanding of the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act and excellent planning and organisational skills.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Evidence of continuous professional development.
• Proven track record of developing and managing data assurance, Information Governance and other operational processes to improve compliance.
• Understanding of Data Protection Act and Caldicott Principles and the NHS Information Governance Toolkit.
• Excellent ability to communicate effectively to different teams, and make complex and technical language and concepts simple.
• Ability to interpret IG data into actionable recommendations for different teams and support learning and training of staff in IG matters.
• Organised and methodical with excellent planning and time management skills
• Good IT and digital skills, comfortable using Microsoft and Google suite applications.
• Strong team-working skills with the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including external suppliers and partners
• Ability to contribute to a positive working environment in which equality and diversity are well managed and staff are empowered and motivated
