Our client is a prominent organisation within the public sector with a national footprint. With a significant employee base near Didcot/ Abingdon and South Oxford.
Job Description
- Lead the Accounting and Finance department, overseeing all financial operations
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards within the public sector
- Develop and implement strategic financial plans to support business objectives
- Collaborate with executive team members on financial planning and budgeting processes
- Monitor and manage financial performance, providing regular reporting to stakeholders
- Drive improvements in financial processes and systems
- Manage relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the finance team
- 2-3 days per week in the office. Parking is available.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Interim Head of Finance should have:
- Advanced understanding and experience in accounting and finance within the public sector/ Charity Sector
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage a team as Head of Finance/ Finance Director level
- Fully Qualified Accountant ( ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
- Exceptional strategic thinking and financial planning skills
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and standards in the public sector
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
