Role Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Senior Commercial Finance Analyst to join LEON on a 12-month interim basis. This pivotal role will advocate for adding commercial value, insights, and strategic direction to the business during a significant transformation period. In 2023, LEON was acquired by Asda, which is now venturing boldly into the dynamic hospitality and QSR sector, aiming to capture a share of the £62bn foodservice market.

Reporting to the Asda Senior Manager - Food Trading Finance, you will partner commercially with the LEON Managing Director, senior leadership, key decision-makers, and operations teams. Your influence will shape commercial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis. You will be instrumental in optimizing and challenging financial performance and providing key project support to help the business identify and seize growth opportunities.

We are looking for a pro-active self-starter with an innovative approach towards performance enhancement and achieving desired results. A strong understanding of our business and substantial financial experience in hospitality, retail, or food operations is essential alongside excellent analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to communicate effectively and influence commercial strategy.

The role is based in our London office with hybrid working flexibility and frequent travel to Asda’s offices in Leeds & Blackburn - all expenses will be covered by us. Duties & Responsibilities

•Utilise financial data to drive improvements in sales and profit through timely impartial insight

•Produce frequent reports to various stakeholders identifying key points and recommendations to aid decision making, and host weekly/monthly meetings to drive robust action plans

•Understand wider market context to inform Commercial Finance updates at leadership meetings

•Work alongside area directors: holding them accountable to deliver their financial commitments, identify areas of opportunity and define longer-term strategic ambitions

•Review site by site performance at a granular level in order to improve performance and undertake benchmarking exercises at margin and opex level

•Be a key member of strategic initiatives working groups, building business cases and defining success

•Report on ROI which will aid exec board in making future Capex decisions

•Analyse and critique initiatives such as supplier changes or new product launches

•Assist the finance team in year-end audit process on performance related queries

Candidate Requirements

•Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA

•Minimum of 3 years post qualification accountancy experience

•Advanced Microsoft Excel & reporting skills

•Strong communication and interpersonal skills

•Demonstrate high levels of integrity and diligence

•Financial Modelling would be desirable but not essential

•Macros/VBA/SQL would be advantageous but not essential

•Experience of using SAP would be desirable
