The IT Support Specialist will provide support for internal end-users in various IT related areas such as desktop support, networks, servers, hardware, software, and general troubleshooting, providing excellent and timely service.
Maintains and supports Windows servers including troubleshooting. Supports development, test, and production servers including after-hours support and monitoring server usage and up-time. Performs maintenance tasks for servers (e.g., patching), hardware, file shares, databases, and networks to ensure high availability.
Manages IT inventory including asset tracking, logging, and deployment of machines. Orders IT supplies and hardware as required including phones, desktops, laptops, printers, etc.
Supports user operations and respond to helpdesk tickets in a timely manner. Works directly with 3rd party IT vendors to troubleshoot and escalate issues as necessary.
Performs other duties/projects such as Windows software rollout using PDQ deploy and VMWare/Hyper-V, working knowledge of networking and Wi-Fi administration.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field, and/or equivalent education and work experience, required.
· Minimum of 5+ years of experience with focus on Windows Desktop / Server Administration and Network troubleshooting.
· Microsoft Certification (MCSE) or equivalent certification.
· Must have a detailed knowledge of Active Directory and Dell / HP Server Hardware.
· Experience managing Windows 10 based desktop infrastructure.
· Experience in GPO Management is preferred.
· Experience working with VMware physical and virtual server hardware environments.
· Experience installing network hardware in IT Closets.
· Experience with Centralized Monitoring, RMM tools, and Windows 10 Desktop imaging.
· Understanding of network protocol: Ethernet, Wireless, VPN, NAT, IPSec, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP.
· Expertise in windows Active Directory, Group Policy Management.
· Windows Server 2012/2016/2019.
· Experience working with Veaam backup and recovery desirable.
· Must be able to work independently.
· Exchange Online System Administration.
· Azure and Office 365 Cloud System admin skills are a plus.
· Experience working with virtualization platforms - Hyper V/VMware.
· Experience troubleshooting switches, routers, network traffic analysis.
· Experience troubleshooting windows server performance, event log tracing and traffic analysis.
· Experience with automated centralized deployment of enterprise software.
· Experience working with Azure Cloud services is desirable
· Excellent verbal and written communications.
· Fluent German and English
