We are on the hunt for a talented and dedicated Junior IT Performance & Planning Analyst to join our innovative Digital Technology, (DT) team. This role is perfect for an individual eager to kickstart a career in IT. The Performance and Planning team supports the DT leadership team and wider function with finance, workforce, continual service improvement, reporting and communication activities to drive the execution of strategy.
This is a newly formed team, which will help DT to think and operate more like a service provider. This team will produce information and data to drive strategic decision making, allowing DT to respond in a more agile way to business needs. It will also drive transparency in how we spend our money and what performance outcomes we achieve. This team will ensure that the function is planning investment to maintain modern, compliant and value for money DT services and has the people and skills it needs to maintain current services and innovate new solutions for the future.
The DT Performance and Planning analyst is responsible for supporting several activities that enable key outcomes within the function, including the recruitment, training and talent planning for staff, finance planning and accounting to ensure that DT spend is within budget.
This role is also responsible for gathering, analysing, and reporting on key performance metrics for the DT function and communicating these and other key messages within the Raytheon organisation. In addition, this role supports the DT Performance and Planning manager with the identification, tracking and communication of continual service improvement activities particularly where these activities need to be planned for in terms of investment and people.
This role works closely with other functions such as finance, recruitment, internal comms, and HR but ultimately is an IT role. This role offers the successful application the ability to transfer skills gained in finance, HR, and business administration into an IT career path or to continue to develop broad ranging business administration skills.
Main Duties:
- Collects the information required to create financial reports, investment appraisals and appropriation requests in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Tracks budgets and supports financial forecasting activities to mitigate cost variances.
- Gathers inputs to financial planning such as AOP (annual operating expenditure), investment requests, CAPEX spending forecast and tactical workforce planning.
- Raises and tracks purchase orders for DT services such as training, contingent labour, and other services.
- Gathers and maintains, workforce capability data.
- Supports managers and teams across the department in recruitment and onboarding activities.
- Maintains organisation charts and other departmental artefacts.
- Books and organises learning events and tracks the DT L&D budget spend.
- Produces the Control Tower report which includes key performance indicators, operational metrics, and strategic goals.
- Undertakes basic risk management activities.
- Supports the identification, planning, tracking and communication of continual service improvement activities.
- Maintains the DT SharePoint site and works with Internal Comms to produce other relevant DT communications.
Candidate Requirements:
- Keen interest in DT/IT and wanting to progress within the function and beyond.
- Keen to learn new skills such as Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate
- Interest and willingness to learn finance, HR, L&D or business administration fields.
- Team player with a collaborative style and “can-do” attitude.
- Attention to detail and great communication skills.
- Ability to interpret data to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
- Ability to collate data from numerous sources and to work with key stakeholders throughout the business to gather their input.
