Lecturer / Senior Lecturer In Architecture

Job Description We are looking for a talented, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic individual to join our collegial team and to help shape our exciting new provision in Architecture. The successful candidate will contribute their expertise to deliver and further develop a range of modules on our BA (Hons) Architecture course, and they will also contribute to learning and teaching across the wider Subject Area of Architecture, Interior Design, and Product & Furniture Design within the School of Design, where appropriate.  They will play an important role in developing the knowledge and skills of our undergraduate and postgraduate students, and work as part of the wider School of Design team to provide professional mentorship, deliver robust assessment, appropriate student support, and overall maintain a high-level of learning and teaching supported by industry-informed expertise.  About you You will have experience in delivering and leading teaching and learning in a Higher Education institute in Architecture. In support of teaching you will have professional industry networks and be actively engaged in architectural design practice, research and/or scholarly activities.  We expect that as an Architecture specialist you have knowledge and experience in designing to low or zero carbon standards, and/or in regenerative design. Knowledge of either architectural technologies or visual communication is also welcome.   About the Role Design and deliver teaching material and assess learners within and across the subject and related areas in pursuit of the academic strategy of the School of Design To contribute to pedagogical innovation, curriculum development and planning with the School in support of the University’s teaching and learning strategy  To engage in relevant research and scholarly activity in support of the University’s research strategy, to inform and enhance curriculum design and improve student experience  To seek external funding for this activity and help develop ideas for new revenue streams  To participate in and contribute to internal/external networks, engage with the relevant academic communities and build productive relationships with industrial bodies, professional associations, employers and practitioners as appropriate  To ensure that responsibilities identified within internal processes, QAA codes of practice, HEFCE guidelines, external accreditations, etc. are robustly met  To undertake administrative duties associated with the normal planning and operational procedures of the department and school  To undertake recruitment, publicity and promotional activities in the interest of the School and University  To contribute to the range of other professional responsibilities shared by tutors within the department  Where appropriate, to mentor colleagues with less experience, advising on their personal development  To carry out any other duties commensurate with the grade and scope of the post
