This award-winning and leading law firm are looking for a Legal Cashier Team Leader to join their growing team based in Liverpool on a full-time permanent basis. This role will responsible for overseeing the day to day transactions of the Cashering team with a strong ability to set goals and meet deadlines within the team.

Job Description

The duties for Legal Cashier Team leader OR Senior Legal Cashier is:

• Responsible for the day-to-day activities of your team
• Daily liaison with and support to be provided to the firm's equity partners in the management of the practice's finances
• Adherence to the firm's internal and external reporting timetables and deadlines
• Liaison with the firm's bankers in relation to bank account maintenance and transaction processing
• Review existing accounts department procedures and suggest and implement improvements as appropriate to ensure optimal efficiency
• Preparing and reviewing client to office transfers and daily bank reconciliations
• Regular review of matter balance reports to ensure that billings are accelerated and that cash is collected as soon as possible once time has been invoiced
• Management of cash flow
• Ownership to be taken of firm's aged debt profile
• Posting of client and office receipts
• Processing of client and office payments
• Processing of supplier invoices
• Ensuring information is recorded and filed correctly
• Liaising with branch offices to answer any queries and provide support to Fee Earners
• Maintaining VAT records, prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
• Producing internal reports to ensure fee earners take prompt action to comply with the firm's policies regarding bills, debts, disbursements and WIP
• Ensuring that all records on the system are up to date and reliable, taking prompt and effective action to maintain accuracy at all ties
• Co-operating effectively with the firm's Practice Director to ensure effective performance of the firm's cash office function
• Undertaking training of new and existing staff in cash office procedures to ensure that they are able to fully and effectively perform their roles at all times
• Petty cash accounting

The Successful Applicant

The successful Legal Cashier Team Leader MUST:

• Have previous Accounts/Cashiering Supervisory/Cash Management experience (in Law Firm)
• Good Knowledge of SRA Regulations
• Strong understanding of VAT/CHAPS/BACS
• International Payments (desirable)
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Able to set goals for team members
