Legal Cashier - Liverpool

Job Title: Legal Cashier
Location: Liverpool City Centre
Salary: £23,000 - £26,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
My client, a reputable Liverpool city centre law firm, are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Legal Cashier to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling all financial transactions within a department, including processing client payments, managing accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role is integral to the smooth functioning of the department and requires a high level of accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
Process client payments promptly and accurately
Manage accounts payable and receivable
Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial records
Handle petty cash transactions
Prepare and submit VAT returns
Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting
Maintain compliance with legal accounting regulations and guidelines
Provide support to other members of the finance team as needed
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Legal Cashier or similar role is highly desirable
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of legal accounting regulations and procedures is desired
