This role is based within the Drill Hall Library on the Medway campus, Chatham in Kent.
The Drill Hall Library is a vibrant and unique facility, providing library and IT services to staff, students and visitors of the Universities at Medway; comprised of the Universities of Greenwich, Kent and Canterbury Christ Church at their shared Medway Campus.
To enhance our excellent standard of services to our users we are now seeking to appoint a highly motivated Library Services Assistant to join our existing team. This post will support our library users in a friendly, efficient, fair and effective manner as well and day to day supervision and monitoring of our front of house operations and staffing as well as back-office Admin tasks.
This is a customer facing role and you should have proven experience of working within a pressured face to face service delivery environment. You will be proactive, highly motivated with a drive to progress your own and staff professional development.
To be able to demonstrate excellent customer service and people skills with the ability to deal with difficult face-to-face situations.
The expected working pattern for this role is below but is subject to change due to the demands of the service.
Monday 12:30pm – 5:00pm
Tuesday 12:30pm – 5:00pm
Wednesday non-working day
Thursday 12:30pm – 5:00pm
Friday 1:00pm – 5:00pm
Total hours per week: 17.5 hours. Participation in a rota for occasional evening and weekend support is a part of the role.
