SPR are proud to be working with a public sector client to recruit for a Licencing Officer based in the Birmingham area.

Working Instructions:

Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm

Location: Birmingham, Hybrid

Pay Rate: £13.20 per hour

The ideal candidate will take on tasks relating to processing and issuing hackney carriage and private hire licences.

Essential Requirements:

• Must have taxi licensing/administrative experience.
• Computer literate
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Role and Responsibilities of the Licensing Officer:

• Receive, review, and process license applications in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
• Ensure that all required documentation is complete and accurate.
• Collaborate with applicants to address any discrepancies or missing information.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure ongoing compliance with licensing regulations.
• Investigate and address any reported violations promptly.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in licensing laws and regulations.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of all licensed entities and their status.
• Generate and maintain accurate records of license approvals, renewals, and revocations.
• Prepare reports and documentation for regulatory authorities as required.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for licensing-related inquiries.
• Communicate effectively with internal departments, external agencies, and license applicants.
• Provide guidance and clarification on licensing processes and requirements.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, and other relevant departments to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and streamline licensing procedures.
• Offer support and guidance to applicants throughout the licensing process.
• Handle inquiries and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
