An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with lots of motivation and drive to take forward the position of Linen Services Manager for NHS Fife. This post is offered as a full time (37.5 hours), A4C Band 7, permanent post and is based at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.
We are looking for a candidate who has a great eye for detail, is an independent thinker who can work with people across Fife and Forth Valley to provide an excellent linen service. You will work with a variety of customers and become the subject matter expert. Fife Linen Service has been at the forefront in innovating with new bedding and is now equipped with modern laundry equipment, whilst now looking to improve the fabric of our building. You will also work with national groups to set contingency plans and long term national laundry strategy. Ensuring effective and efficient service delivery you will be a good staff manager who can ensure consistent quality of service through a mix of hands-on leadership and sound planning.
You will be expected to develop and maintain management systems to ensure that production is well controlled with due regard to health and safety, infection control, financial management, staff wellbeing and customer service.
You will be responsible for managing and developing the service in line with NHS Scotland’s environmental ambitions.
You will interact with staff and service providers at all levels and must be an able communicator. As the subject expert, you will both demonstrate clear leadership on the topic and practical hands-on implementation skills.
You will hold an appropriate qualification and should also have practical experience in Linen Services or a comparable field.
You will also be responsible for linen at all sites within NHS Fife & Forth Valley and have the ability to commute to all areas when necessary.
