We are looking for a Maintenance Operative / Handyman / woman for our busy BCA Chipping Warden site.
Within this role, you will be responsible for the appearance and functional upkeep of the site and complete tasks such as repairs, groundwork upkeep and cleaning. This role will require indoor and outdoor work in all weather.
Maintenance Operative will report directly to the Site Manager.
Salary: £29,000.00
Hours: Monday – Friday Day Shift
Main responsibilities:
Conducting routine maintenance tasks, undertaking repairs and tackling a range of other practical tasks.
Installation of appliances and equipment as and if required.
Yard upkeep which includes filling in potholes, weeding, collecting rubbish.
Inspecting and troubleshooting equipment.
Reporting any issues to the Facilities Manager.
Perform cleaning activities such as cleaning up spills etc. if required.
Fix any basic plumbing issues.
Skills and experience required:
Full UK Driving Licence
For the insurance purpose you need to be over 21 years old and hold a driving licence for minimum 2 years (essential)
Proven maintenance experience.
Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
Ability to check, repair manuals as necessary.
Ability to use common tools such as hammers, saws, drills, and wrenches.
Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.Experience performing routine maintenance.
Eye for detail.
Professional presentation and attitude.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain focus while working individually.
Strong time management skills.
Ability to lift or move heavy loads at times i.e. stones or bins around the yard.
Operate cleaning machines as required.
