Management Accountant - 6 Month Contract

Reed Finance are currently partnered with a well established client in the Burgess Hill area who are seeking a Management Accountantto join their team to cover maternity.  Reporting to the Finance Manager as Management Accountant this role encompasses all aspects of financial reporting and offers an opportunity to develop internal reporting. The successful candidate will build on existing relationships with key stakeholders and contribute to the production of monthly management accounts.

Day-to-day Management Accountant duties include:

• Assist the Finance Manager with the production of monthly management accounts within tight reporting deadlines.
• Contribute to the development of internal reporting processes.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations and maintain detailed P&L schedules.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure full balance sheet reconciliations.
• Liaise with the purchase ledger provider to manage purchase ledger cut off.
• Ensure management accounts are completed by WD6.
• Assist with IFRS16 reporting and annual statutory audit.
• Manage statutory reporting to external bodies.
• Assist with intercompany reporting and ad-hoc internal reports for senior management.
• Support the Accounts Payable function, ensuring supplier payments and reconciliations are completed promptly.
• Oversee the purchase order process and maintain a fluid invoice flow for accurate management information.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong background in Management Accounts and a good knowledge of Purchase Ledger.
• Proven ability to meet tight reporting deadlines and manage workload effectively.
• Good analytical skills for understanding and explaining budget variances.
• Experience with standard accounting packages and quick adaptation to new systems.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with internal and external stakeholders from finance and non-finance backgrounds.
