As part of the companies continued expansion, FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of a QBE / Part Qualified / Qualified Finance Professional to join the business as Management Accountant.
This role offers Hybrid working and when office based will work from the clients offices ideally situated in Rugby and therefore easily accessible from across Warwickshire / Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.
Reporting into the Financial Controller, this role will offer great support and development operating as the No 2 in a Finance Team of 4
Description
The role of Management Accountant has been introduced to support the continued growth of 8 Revenue Generating units, across 3 Companies.
This challenging and varied role takes ownership of the operational financial management, providing support to the Financial Controller.
The role requires strong organisation skills and a focused and flexible individual, with a strong track record in management accounting.
Specific Tasks
•Preparation of monthly management accounts and associated reporting in accordance with Group monthly timetable
•Prepare and review month end journals and co-ordinate the running of the month end close process on the accounting system.
•Investigation and explanation of account variances to budget and expectations
•Balance sheet reconciliations performed on a monthly basis with reconciling items fully investigated and resolved on a timely basis.
•Preparation of 13-week cash-flow forecasts and weekly cashflow variances
•Preparation of weekly performance reporting
•Oversee the integrity of sales and purchase ledgers and processing of sales and purchase invoices and assist with queries as required.
•Supervise the interaction with customers’ third-party ERPs for sales invoicing.
•Prepare Aged Debtor Reporting and supervise Credit Control, focussing on areas of risk.
•Reconcile debtor’s ledger and submit reports to Finance Systems to ensure funds are made available for drawdown on a timely basis.
•Supervision of payroll preparation (carried out by the Accounts Assistant), liaison with payroll bureau, review of payroll reports and resolution of queries across all entities.
•To facilitate the financial planning process in conjunction with the Financial Controller and SMT to ensure the timely preparation of budgets and forecasts.
•Prepare and update financial pricing models to aid contract discussions between the Financial Controller, SMT and customers.
•Quarterly VAT reporting and reconciliations
•Liaison with auditors and assist with the preparation of tax packs.
•Completion of the Group Internal Control Questionnaire and actioning financial control improvements identified and respond to control risks identified at audit.
•Working closely with the Financial Controller on other ad hoc projects.
The ideal candidate will be
•Working towards AAT / ACA / ACCA / CIMA if not already qualified, those that are QBE will be considered
•At least 2 years previous experience gained in a similar role with experience gained within Manufacturing / Service / Logistics Industries Desirable.
•Strong communication skills including the ability to communicate and business partner with all levels of the business, from shop floor to Director level.
•Strong analytical and logic problem solving skills.
•Excellent Excel skills and the ability to manipulate significant amounts of data.
•Self-motivation and commitment as well as enthusiasm in supporting new processes and change.
