Management Accountant

Robert Half is currently recruiting for a Management Accountant to join a multi-billion turnover business based in Nottingham.

Reporting directly into the Finance Manager and working together with the wider team, the holder of this role will work to assist with the month-end close process, financial reporting to UK and US management and help to ensure a robust and accurate balance sheet. Working as part of a dynamic finance team, the successful candidate will be a part or fully qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA).

Duties will include:

• Responsible for the month end revenue accounting
• Work closely with key stakeholders (finance and non finance) to ensure accurate revenue recognition
• Provide support with post month end revenue recognition queries
• Preparation of month-end reports, provide commentaries and variance analysis to senior members of Finance
• Assist with SOX controls sign off and audit for the UK, eg contract reviews, collation of financial statements audit documentation etc (quarterly and annually)
• Support of FP&A team in forecasting and budgeting
• Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices
• Able to work on your own initiative and to time deadlines
• Assist with multi-functional projects and ad hoc business initiatives
• Other accounting duties commensurate with the role

Experience required:

• Month End - experience posting journals, understanding of accruals and prepayments
• Candidate should have at least 1- 3 years working in an accounting or professional environment
• Qualified Accountant/ Finalist or Part Qualified (ACA, ACCA, AAT, CIMA)
• Must be able to prioritise & organise independently in order to hit deadlines and achieve multiple priorities
• Enthusiastic, motivated, keen to learn and develop and takes pride in their work
• High level of numeracy and accuracy is required to perform this role
