Accountancy Recruit is partnering with a Private Holding Company for a highly profitable group with turnover of £250 million in the recruitment of a Management Accountant. The majority of the business is involved in selling timber products to the UK construction business; however, this is managed from the North of England. The rest of the business involves a thoroughbred breeding business, traditional farming, and property investment. This is effectively the private office of the sole owner, with offices based in Marlborough (onsite parking available). As the Management Accountant you will be working within a small team reporting to the Finance Director and taking responsibility for monthly management accounts, financial analysis and reporting for the board for the Group.
Key Accountability Overview
- Overseeing the month end closure.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, analysis, and commentary for presentation to the board.
- Balance sheet reconciliations and P&L reporting.
- Cost analysis and control, investigating financial data to reveal trends and opportunities.
- Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and month end variance analysis.
- Cash flow analysis and forecasting.
- Assisting with internal and external audit, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Financial analysis and reporting to provide insight and guide strategy.
- Produce monthly consolidated financial reports.
- Assist in year end statutory accounts and compliance.
Person Specification
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA Fully or Part Qualified. Support will be provided for professional qualifications.
- Working knowledge in a similar role.
- Excellent communication skills and the proven ability to manage stakeholders at all levels.
- Previous experience of Sage / Sage Line 50 would be an advantage.
- Advanced Excel.
- The ability to work autonomously, but also work well within a small team.
Remuneration
- Competitive base salary between £45-55,000 pa depending on experience.
