A Bath based employer of choice are looking to appoint a Management Accountant / Finance Business Partner to join their high-performing team. This is a newly created role that involves implementing sound financial controls and producing robust and timely reporting and commentary as well as being a Financial partner in strategic and operational decision-making.
Your new role
You will be responsible for:
- Support in the timely production of monthly management accounts (including at year end) with relevant and insightful commentary on year to date and forecast variances.
- Actively participate in the annual planning cycle, providing insight, stakeholder engagement and analysis to support the 5-year plan assumptions and outputs.
- Align with strategic structures to provide financial support and guidance on preparing financial business cases for investment, challenging stakeholders where appropriate to ensure the best return or savings.
- Continue to track business cases in order to comment on financial progress against plan (eg costs/savings/income), sharing and discussing with stakeholders in order to understand variances.
- Monitor Capital reporting and investigate variances to provide useful commentary to feed into Management Information.
- Collate and validate reporting data and lead on the completion and submission returns.
- Collaborate and share information with team members to engender team working and collegiality in order to promote financial sustainability by encouraging reallocation of resources at quarterly forecasts and budget planning.
- Create targeted reports which offer key insights into areas of expenditure.
- Be responsible for the preparation of one or more of the year end notes to the accounts.
What you\'ll need to succeed
The successful candidate will ideally be working towards a relevant accounting qualification. Additional skills required include:
- Proven ability to create, analyse and interpret financial reports and budgetary information.
- Naturally curious and improvement orientated has demonstrable experience of creating new reports and bespoke financial analysis.
- Proactive and naturally curious to understand the bigger picture or context for financial reports or analysis produce
- Ability to create rapport with team members and stakeholders in order to create a productive, professional and enjoyable working environment.
- Highly motivated and enjoys challenges and variety
- Ability to work flexibly to achieve daily tasks and team goals
