This Management Accountant role heads a small team managing various areas of accounting for our 125 branches. This is a newly defined, key role that will lead the transformation of the Management Accounts function within the business, ensuring the team is set up to provide best in class service to our branch network.
This role would suit a hands-on Management Account / Finance Manager with strong understanding of double entry, key accounting principles and preparation of Management Accounts. The individual needs have a strong focus on process improvement and relish the opportunity of being able to re-shape the team and the processes.
Responsibilities
- Accounting for all Operating Costs in the business
- Calculation, posting and reconciliation of monthly prepayments and accruals
- Ensure invoice allocations are carried out in an accurate and timely manner
- Fixed Asset Accounting
- Management of a team of Assistant Accountants
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations for all cost prepayments / accruals
- Ensure queries from the branch network are managed in an effective and timely manner
- Monthly cost reporting / analysis to a variety of stakeholders
- Process improvement using digital solutions ensuring the Management Accounts team can facilitate and accommodate future growth of the business
- Project lead on digital / process improvement projects
- Liaising with auditors and managing relevant parts of the audit
Requirements
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA or similar
- Experience of managing a team
- Experience in Business Change - Process reviews, implementation of digital solutions
- Experience working in a busy finance team environment in a multi-site business
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
