The team you’ll work with:
The HSBC Innovation Banking, Financial Crime Risk & Controls (FCRC) team is a First Line of Defence (FLOD) team responsible for identifying, investigating and monitoring relationships that pose a money laundering or terrorist financing risk in support of all legal and regulatory requirements relating to anti-money laundering (AML) and counter terrorism financing.
The FCRC team also has responsibility for reviewing and assessing sanctions and reputational risk considerations for both existing clients and new prospects.
The value you’ll add:
The incoming hire will report to the Senior Manager, FCRC and the role itself will partner closely with FLOD business and product areas, the Client Lifecycle Management team in the UK and the HSBC UK Business Financial Crime Risk team.
The role will also have a close working relationship with the Second Line of Defence (SLOD) UK Financial Crime (UKFC) team and other SLOD HSBC Regional and Global Financial Crime Risk teams.
What you can expect to be doing:
Assessing client and prospect Financial Crime Risk referrals from the Venture & Growth Fintech business.
Providing expertise in assessing pre-launch or emerging business models to align with internal requirements for enhanced due diligence and approval.
Reviewing client relationships that meet HSBC’s high risk business categories and geographies, including Special Category of Clients (SCC).
Serving as an SME for Relationship Teams to aid in identification of prospects & existing clients that may have increased Financial Crime Risk due to business model or geographic location.
Working closely with UKFC to seek advice on complex global Financial Crime matters and serving as the FLOD escalation point of contact for Financial Crimes activity.
Assisting clients/prospects to ensure compliance with HSBC Financial Crime Risk assessment requirements.
Assisting with internal ongoing due diligence review escalations regarding client matters (including both Financial Crime and reputational risk considerations).
Supporting Relationship Managers in the preparation and presentation of papers to Reputational Risk and Client Selection Committee
You will have line management of a team of Associates in FCRC responsible for undertaking SCC reviews and Actionable Intelligence alerts (including PEPs, Adverse Media and Account Activity Reviews).
