Manager of Global Audience Development for Condé Nast Traveller (CNT) will work with the Global Executive Director of Audience Development, Analytics, and Social. The right candidate will understand how to creatively develop, engage, and inform audiences across platforms, be clued in on emerging networks, and how CNT can use them effectively. They will also execute day-to-day global newsletter strategy across CNT markets. As the brand’s newsletter expert, this candidate will guide subscriber and email traffic growth strategies, uncover revenue opportunities, and drive product optimisation efforts for each market’s dedicated newsletter program. They will also coordinate with CNT’s editorial, design, PR, and Audience Development departments to expand and enhance the distribution of subscription-driving content to new audiences through novel formats, work with the sales team to conceive and execute sponsored social and newsletter packages that capitalises on trending and evergreen topics the global CNT audiences love.
The ideal candidate is passionate about digital media and storytelling and is comfortable working at the intersection of editorial, Audience Development, analytics, and newsletter marketing.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work with commerce editors and SEO team to grow search traffic, using analytics to identify growth opportunities
Help develop and maintain long and short-term sponsorship and editorial calendars—with a focus on identifying priority brand events and producing content for them
Collaborate with the edit and art departments on promoting long-form features and strong subscription drivers on social platforms and newsletters
Work with the sales and Audience Development teams to pursue and execute sponsorship opportunities on social platforms and newsletters
Develop acquisition strategy to drive newsletter subscriber growth
Increase newsletter engagement rates through testing, content analysis, targeted segmentation, and recipient-level content personalization
Define newsletter strategy best practices for email stakeholders across the markets, including strategies for onboarding, re-engagement, personalization, audience segmentation, etc.
Build and deploy newsletter products using Sailthru
Help to develop email roadmap and long-term email growth goals
Attend monthly performance meetings with Condé Nast's newsletter strategy team and stakeholders
Collaborate with Product team around on-site email sign-up opportunities, functionality, and copy
Collaborate with Social and SEO strategy teams to identify email acquisition opportunities
Evaluate most effective content to drive signups; optimize content for search
Identify underutilized social channels for email signup
Report deliverables and results to the Audience Development team and key stakeholders
Preferred Skills:
Experience in publishing, ideally having worked on both editorial and Audience Development
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience working across departments and working on collaborative projects
Professional experience creating, optimizing, and adapting content for platforms including websites, newsletters, video, and social media platforms
Excellent understanding of email execution concepts and metrics; deliverability; best practices
Proven ability to grow audiences through email strategies
Highly analytical and capable of deriving meaning from data through testing and optimization
Previous experience in a global or multi-market role with ability to lead multiple teams and projects
Detail oriented with exceptional project management skills
Experience with Sailthru (or a similar ESP platform) required; Google Analytics and Parse.ly (or a similar analytics’ platforms) a plus
