Further Information:
A Personal Assistant is required initially for 3 hours a week to act as a companion and facilitator for a 85 year old gentlemen who has Alzheimer’s who lives in the East Hull area. The 3 hours are required on a Monday or Friday to take him out and to give his wife some respite. The gentleman likes going to garden centres, museums and walking in the park if the weather is good. He enjoys the company of others ans is very sociable. If the successful applicant gets on well with the gentleman, the hours may be increased to extend the range of activities.
Applicants should also have a strongly developed sense of social justice in supporting the social inclusion of disabled people in their local community. In addition, they should be honest, reliable, and good at communicating, tolerant and non-judgemental and able to build good relationships based on trust and respect.
