Mechanical Building Service Design Engineer/Project Co-ordinator

About the Role:
We are excited to offer a permanent opportunity for a seasoned Mechanical Building Service Design Engineer at Promech Services Ltd, a renowned mechanical services contractor with a track record of success. This role plays a pivotal part in delivering mechanical systems for high-end building and regeneration projects, with a focus on the residential sector.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
Design Leadership: Spearhead and progress the design of mechanical and public health systems, primarily from RIBA Stage 4, for diverse projects in our current portfolio exceeding £17 million.
Client Collaboration: Effectively engage with clients, builders, architects, and M&E consultants to ensure a comprehensive understanding and fulfillment of project requirements and expectations.
Project Management: Oversee the production of Request for Information (RFIs), technical submittals, and drawing comments. Coordinate design efforts with other trades and specialist subcontractors to provide clear and precise instructions for site installation and commissioning phases.
Team Coordination: Collaborate closely with our team of skilled contracts managers, tenderers, technical managers, and site teams to ensure seamless integration and collaboration at all stages of the project.
Mechanical Systems: Design and develop HVAC, Energy Centre, and LTHW Systems, covering BMS Point Selection, heat loss calculations, equipment selection, and system integration.
Public Health Systems: Design Domestic Water and Public Health Systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Other: Generate mechanical/public health drawings in AutoCAD and contribute to the tendering process with value engineering options.
Qualifications and Skills:
Essential: Higher National Certificate in Building Services Engineering (HVAC), 10+ years' experience in MEP design, highly proficient in the residential sector, adept in IES/Hevacomp and AutoCAD, and familiar with UK Building Regulations, CIBSE Codes, relevant British Standards, etc.
Desirable: Degree in Building Services Engineering, experience in other sectors (education, retail, healthcare), proficiency in REVIT and BIM, in-depth knowledge of air conditioning, BMS controls, electrical services.
Personal Qualities: Team-oriented, punctual, reliable, hardworking, flexible, with excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
